Support Our Nation’s Power Plants and Stop EPA’s Power Plant Strategy In Order To Prevent A Reliability Crisis.

I am writing to express my deep concern over the accelerated retirement of coal-fired power plants, as mandated by impending EPA regulations. The EPA’s power plant rules are being finalized despite clear warnings from our nation’s electricity providers and energy reliability regulators, risking plunging swathes of our country into darkness. We need to stop this EPA blackout blunder.

Recent polls show a significant increase in public concern regarding the speed of our energy transition and its impact on grid reliability:

  1. 78% of Americans favor a balanced energy strategy that includes coal.
  2. 72% are worried about the rapid transition’s impact on reliability—up from 52% last year.
  3. 65% advocate for pausing plant closures until replacement capacities are proven operational.

The evidence is clear: Americans demand a more thoughtful approach to our energy transition. I urge you to OPPOSE the EPA’s plan to short circuit the power supply through: the Clean Power Plan 2.0, Mercury Air Toxics Standards, Steam Electric Power Generating Effluent Guidelines, and Coal Combustion Residuals requirements to ensure energy reliability is not compromised.

Thank you for safeguarding our energy infrastructure and ensuring a reliable power supply for all Americans. Please call upon me anytime if you have any questions, and I look forward to your response.
